When my father was moved here from a nursing home in 2014 he was hospitalized multiple times resulting in a leg amputation, heart surgery, and a diagnosis of lung cancer which resulted in his death in 2018. Why am I telling you all of this? Because I took care of my dad in my home for 4 years and he was a very sick man. Our nurse, April Rizzo, was there for me and my family more than blood family was. She went way above and beyond her duty to make sure my dad most of all was taken care of. She called to check on him, she came to see him when he went into hospice, she came to our home to say her goodbyes, to pray for him and my family the day he died in my home.
April wasn't just my dad's home nurse, she was my dad's friend and he loved her so much! When my kids' other grandfather was dying, she was such a huge support for my family and it wasn't easy going through any of this but she kept my family strong. We have made a lifelong friend in April and we are very thankful for her. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
