Aprille was nominated because of her professionalism and steady, compassionate presence during an extremely difficult hospitalization. When the patient shared that she was in “unspeakable pain,” Aprille stayed by her side. The patient shared, “She held my hand and let me cry on her shoulder.” The patient credited Aprille with keeping her spirits high, advocating for timely care and offering both empathy and encouragement during her rehabilitation. “I didn’t have to worry about anything when Aprille was on duty,” she wrote.
