I had an emergency complication that brought me to UT Jacksonville. My water broke and the umbilical cord came out. I called the ambulance and they brought me to Jacksonville even though I planned to deliver at another hospital. Aranda Telles was the nurse that received me. She explained to me that she would need to keep her hand in place trying to keep my baby’s head off of the umbilical cord while we waited for the doctor to arrive. She also explained to me that this was an emergency and I would require a C-section for delivery. She was calm and tried to reassure me while I was getting an IV started and waiting for the doctor to arrive. She stayed with me the entire time, talking with me and my husband. My baby was safely delivered. I appreciate Aranda talking to me while I was scared and worried about my baby and I am so grateful that my baby was ok.
