Her love for her job comes through as she provides high-quality care for each patient.
"Archie is one of the most compassionate and empathetic RNs I have witnessed. She always puts her patients first and ensures that her patients are well taken care of, have what they need, and feel heard. My observations and experiences during my stay continue to be positive. Her love for her job comes through as she provides high-quality care for each patient."
I spoke to this patient at length about her experience with Archie. She is a director at another local hospital, working with nurses all day long, and she said that Archie has something in her that all bedside nurses should have. She could not say enough about Archie, her dedication, and the care that she provided. The patient described Archie as an “impeccable, phenomenal, humble nurse, in every aspect”. She came into the patient’s room several times over to check on her and her roommate, and “treated them each as if they were the only patient she had”. The patient specifically spoke about Archie’s compassion for her roommate, who was going to hospice, and their family. The roommate mentioned to Archie that she was coughing a lot, and Archie got an order for breathing treatment for her comfort in the middle of the night. Again, this patient could not say enough positive things about Archie, her caring for patients “as if they were her own family members” and her going “over and beyond, regardless of time.”
Note: This is Archie's 2nd DAISY Award!
