The notebook became my outlet for processing what I was going through, and Areebah's kindness made me feel less alone.
One night while I was in the hospital, I was feeling particularly low. Complications from my surgery were wearing me down, and each day felt tougher than the last. Even though I hadn't said a word, Areebah noticed my mood. I tried to dismiss it, but she took the time to sit with me and listen as I finally shared my worries and frustrations, something I didn't realize I needed. But Areebah didn't stop there.

After her shift ended, she returned to my room with a notebook and pen she'd bought at the gift shop. She suggested I write down my thoughts, saying it might help ease my mind. On the first page, she'd written, "You're stronger than you know." It was a small gesture but had a big impact. The notebook became my outlet for processing what I was going through, and Areebah's kindness made me feel less alone. She didn't just look after my physical health, she supported me emotionally, and that meant everything to my recovery.
