My wife has dementia and was repeatedly trying to take off the leads and sensors that had been on her body. I, being her husband, was constantly stopping this from happening through the day. At 9:00 p.m. I was in the bathroom, my wife had totally stripped everything off; an extraordinary nurse was on duty and with a nice smile and gentle way. She reattached all the leads and put on a new gown for my wife. She was gentle and understanding and put my wife at ease.

This nurse was professional and compassionate with the situation. My wife was then put to bed for the night, only for the same thing to happen two more times. Then at 05:00 a.m. the next morning, my wife had again taken off her clothes, leads, and sensors and urinated on the floor next to the bed. This nurse came in with a smile and the same understanding that she had shown every time. She started to clean the wet floor, redressed my wife, and reapplied the leads. This was the fourth time in less than 24 hours, all with the same nurse, who was compassionate, understanding, and had a loving smile.
