February 2023 Honoree
Ariana Tillery, BSN, RN, OCN, CPHON
Several weeks ago, Ariana shared with her manager that she had found a man in the employee parking lot as she was coming into work and called 911. She stayed with him until the Ambulance arrived. She did not know the man and we never heard more about it until last Thursday, September 7th when he came to the unit looking for Ariana. She was off that day, but he shared with me his story of having a saddle block with 37 blood clots in his lungs in addition to multiple blood clots in each extremity. He is truly a walking miracle! Ariana worked on Friday, the following day and when the patient got off at 8:00 a.m., he came to the unit again to speak with her. He shared his story with her along with the pictures of the blood clots in his lungs. The three of us were in my office in tears at God’s mercy and grace, and for Ariana who was willing and obedient to stop and help a stranger.
Thank you, Ariana, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
