CPT Flowers sat at the bedside explaining every detail of each of the tests being performed and offered comfort where little was to be found due to her husband not being available to accompany her to the ER.
CPT Flowers was working as the charge nurse for the ER roughly two months ago. Although the census was high for the day she took extra time and care to comfort a pregnant patient who potentially was having a miscarriage. CPT Flowers sat at the bedside explaining every detail of each of the tests being performed and offered comfort where little was to be found due to her husband not being available to accompany her to the ER.

This patient held CPT Flowers’s hand while invasive procedures were being performed; although a stranger, CPT Flowers embodied compassion and caring being the required standards of care. She demonstrated standards of compassion that should be applauded and emulated by our field of nursing. The patient posted remarks on the local Facebook page telling the community how strangers, nurses, could demonstrate caring beyond safe and standard practices. CPT Arianna Flowers embodies the principles by which the DAISY Award was created. Patient-centered, compassionate, and meaningful interactions connect our nurses with our patients. Kuddos CPT Flowers.
