On Thursday I walked into a very busy Emergency Department. In bed 1 was a trauma that was going to VCU, in Triage was a patient signing in with a Stroke, in bed 15 was a pediatric patient having conscious sedation and in bed 16 was a patient in very serious critical condition. This is when I found Arielle Duclau who was in Charge. She was very aware of what was going on in the unit and where her resources were needed. She directed everyone in the unit, and all of the rest of the patients, both in the waiting area and in our patient rooms. Arielle always maintains a professional composure and her critical thinking skills are always spot on.
