I was admitted to 4East on my husband's and my 35th wedding anniversary with a heart issue. From the EMTs through ER staff, and all the way through to the 4East nursing staff the message had traveled that it was our anniversary. I asked, my RN that evening if there was grape juice on the floor that I could at least "toast" my husband with. Arielle not only brought the grape juice but also ordered a small "Best Wishes" cake from the cafeteria. What a sweet surprise and a wonderful display of our SSM mission of providing exceptional (compassionate) service - revealing the healing presence of God!
Arielle was also very caring and compassionate, always making sure we were okay and well cared for. I left feeling so proud that I share the same place of employment with the constant encouragement to not just "do a job", but to provide the best quality care possible through compassion, respect, dignity, and a surprise cake!
