Arlan J Aspiras, RN

I want to take this time to acknowledge Nurse Arlan. I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, came to the hospital in nasty rain, and throwing up blood. Coming up to the 6th floor I was very worried, didn’t know how I was going to be treated; then walked in Arlan. He told me that he was going to be my nurse for that night and that if I needed anything to just ask. I told him I was in a lot of pain; without any hesitation, he got me some pain medication. Arlan is a perfect example of what a great nurse is. He has empathy for others, works hard, and has a lot of compassion, but most of all, he treats all of his patients like family. USC Verdugo Hospital is extremely lucky to have a nurse like Arlan working for them.
