Arlene has a high level of passion and compassion for other people.
I feel that Arlene encapsulates the passion, emotional intelligence, trust, and leadership qualities that all nurses should strive to possess. She proves to be passionate about her job because she always thinks about her staff. My charge nurse thinks of her staff before herself, demonstrating genuine servant leadership characteristics. Being truly compassionate, she can even skip her lunch to help her colleagues and make sure that they are not overburdened with the tasks they have to manage immediately. These behaviors apparently show that my charge nurse has a high level of passion and compassion for other people who are involved in the context of nursing.

My charge, Arlene proves to be an emotionally intelligent person because she is oriented toward the establishment of meaningful connections with others. She is always supportive, trying to help her colleagues whenever they face certain difficulties. Arlene is respectful to patients and coworkers, never getting angry or demonstrating that she is upset when talking to them. Talking to others, she always introduces positive regard and optimistic future orientation.

Arlene is also a crucial member of the team, being a true leader who can guide others and follow the guidance herself. She is always fair and considerate, clearly communicating her expectations and acting as a person of integrity. Arlene knows that by trusting others, she will be trusted back. As an impeccable team player, she manages to effectively build deep connections with others.

Arlene also possesses many attributes that are really admirable. For instance, she is always willing to help, and there is no need to ask her twice. Not having a secretary at night, our unit feels deeply supported when my charge nurse does the tasks that are assigned to her every night.

Overall, Arlene is very dedicated to her work and selfless by nature. Being helpful to her staff all the time, demonstrating a professional attitude to her tasks, and acting as a source of emotional support, she truly embodies the UMC values, advancing health care excellence and contributing to patient-centered care. As a person of integrity, accountability, and compassion, she is a true DAISY Nurse.
