Arlyn is one of our top NICU nurses. She has many years of experience working with the neonatal population and their families. Her extraordinary care and compassion recently overflowed into the community.
Arlyn was attending a dance competition with her daughter. A 31-year-old father who was also at the event experienced a sudden cardiac arrest. Once Arlyn was aware of someone in need of medical assistance she did not hesitate to help. Not only did she help, but she also became the team leader of the resuscitation efforts and utilized the AED to analyze and shock the patient. Because of her skills and efforts, first responders were able to continue the resuscitation and safely transport the patient. With Arlyn's help, two children and a wife still have their loved one with them.
I and our NICU team are extremely proud of Arlyn Riquelme. We believe this is a perfect example of an outstanding nurse.
