He called us to let us know my father needed help and looked lost. He said our dad showed him his driver's license that had our address. He took the time to bring our dad home even though he was on the brink of being late at work despite being new to the position.
Please accept this letter of sincere thanks for a certain nurse named Armando Edang. In February, an angel sent appeared at our house and we were appreciative of the simple and yet heartwarming gesture shown by this person who showed genuine care, brought and led, and took the time in his best ability to help my ill-bereaving and demented father in being safe and assisted my dad as he was attempting to obtain official records of my mother who recently passed away under Kaiser's Hospice care. It was felt as if we were in the best caring place with human care even for my mom's short length of time to be cared for under the comfort care program.

To cut the story short, my mom passed away a few months ago. We were not able to obtain medical records post her death but were all too busy to find the time to request such records. My father who has dementia unfortunately drove without our knowledge to the medical facility and go lost in the parking lot and hallways for hours not knowing where to go due to his forgetfulness and medical condition. He was found by this nurse and we received a call that my father was there asking for assistance with his needs for some pertinent documents. The nurse was having a hard time trying to understand. At that point, we were trying to find where my parent went. We were just delighted and happy to find out where he had gone and that nothing had happened to him. We were told by RN Armando Edang, who was also in a hurry to get to work, that he noticed my dad in the walkway a few minutes after arriving at Kaiser. Passing in an elevator, he noticed him again appearing somewhat lost and confused. He took time to redirect him and assisted him. He called us to let us know my father needed help and looked lost. He said our dad showed him his driver's license that had our address. He took the time to bring our dad home even though he was on the brink of being late at work despite being new to the position. We couldn't have been more pleased with the care my dad got from the RN. In our books, the nurse was exceptional! In a split second, he was gone due to work, and in a short-remembered phrase, "Stay safe!" is all we heard. So, in our gratefulness, we thank you for a staff member well deserved to be called a "HERO." A simple gesture means dearly to us as it was a heartfelt and genuine gesture. We didn't have a chance to say we owe him as no ill fate or bad thing happened to our only remaining parent. This is one event we say made some of his days meaningful and comfortable as they say in hospice. What more can we ask for? We are still battling some legal issues and custody. Soon we will see him! We hope this message gets to him and the rest of your organization as well. Despite quietly and anonymously continue mourning our recent loss, we are still bountifully and sincerely blessed to have Kaiser Permanente and its people like Armando Edang as our nurturing and saving grace. Godspeed and well done.
