Because of his developmental disability, he is not an easy patient; he relates well only to people who truly care about him. You displayed gentleness to him, and so you were able to make him comply with requested orders where other personnel failed. your personal warmth and respect for him as a person won him over and your trust relationship that is essential in treating patients.
