Nomination 1: On one shift, I began taking care of a patient who was recently both cared for and admitted by Aron. This shift, the patient appeared anxious and stressed regarding her diagnosis and being in the hospital given the current state of the pandemic. It came time for discharge, and while this relieved some anxiety, tension was still high. When escorting the patient out of the hospital, Aron recognized her addressing her by her name and asking how she was doing. The smile, cheerful attitude, and the fact that Aron remembered her name brought the patient to tears. The patient continued to express how amazing he was and how grateful she was for having Aron involved in her care. Aron set the standard of care for this patient and made a lasting impression that she will take home and cherish. Amazing job Aron!
Nomination 2: Aron took great care of me. He was very kind, great, attentive and professional. He was very caring and nurturing. He always seemed busy taking care of somebody, including me. He seems very passionate and very serious about what he does for a living.
Nomination 3: Aron has this amazing calm, kind demeanor that not only often diffuses those difficult patients, but also allows him to develop a rapport with them. On one particular day, Aron had come in on his day off to help out when another nurse on our team had to go home after slipping on ice in the parking lot. Aron, as usual, was working efficiently and effectively, offering help to others at every opportunity. Near the end of the shift, another RN was working on discharging a patient home. This was a psych patient and the discharge depended on her accepting outpatient psych services. When the coordinator came to set this up, the patient began saying she would not agree to the outpatient support. Aron stepped in to help, he had cared for this patient the previous weekend and developed a good rapport with her. Aron listened to her concerns and explained why the outpatient psych support would be helpful and important. In the end, the patient agreed to the support services and was able to discharge home. Aron has a fantastic work ethic and a compassionate, caring heart. He deserves to be recognized!
