Aroon Gill, BSN, RN

Aroon has been caring for me on the night shift for the past two weeks after a demanding and complex hip implant replacement surgery. His knowledge is unsurpassed compared to all of the other nurses who have cared for me here. Each shift, regardless of the challenges, adding on a wound VAC, then a new drain, and instruction on how I could best enter and exit the bed made my pain levels so much better. Every time I needed something, he responded quickly and had the answer or resource to satisfy my need. I observed how his performance of duty had an impact on the less experienced staff, and they relied on him as a mentor and subject matter input on all things patient care related. He is an exceptional role model! Aroon has the ability to understand the complexity of both the medical and the emotional needs of an older patient. I’ve benefited from this skill. Many times, his regular overnight scheduling put him in a position of having to change my bandages, and it was not a pleasant task for him or me. Somehow, each time, he made it tolerable, and I appreciated him more and more. The mission at this hospital is clearly to provide quality outstanding care. I grew to trust him and am honored to salute him and submit him for this award!
