Surrounded by machines, uncertainty, and fear, she gave us something we desperately needed: hope.
We would like to nominate Aryanne because she was the light in the darkest moment of our lives. When we arrived at the NICU late at night after our son was born four weeks early, Aryanne was the first person we met. Surrounded by machines, uncertainty, and fear, she gave us something we desperately needed: hope. Her calm, warm presence made us feel safe, even as our tiny son was fighting for his life. We were there literally 24 hours a day — exhausted, scared, clinging to any sign of progress. Aryanne stood by us through it all. She gave up days off, even though she has children of her own. She celebrated tiny victories with us and offered quiet reassurance in the hardest moments. But it wasn’t just for us. Aryanne brought that same compassion and dedication to every baby and every family in the unit. One beautiful example: she lovingly took heartwarming photos of all the babies in the NICU — creating small moments of normality and joy for families living in uncertainty. It meant the world. Thanks to her, our son is now a healthy, joyful 7-month-old. And thanks to her, we made it through those impossible weeks. We are still in touch today — and we always will be. Aryanne changed our lives, and we will be forever grateful.
