Her presence was a constant reminder that we were not alone in this battle; we were in the right place with the right person.
In November 2023, our family received the heartbreaking news that my sister, a 41-year-old mother of two beautiful daughters, had been diagnosed with lymphoma. It was a moment that completely changed our lives. As we struggled through these difficult times and the overwhelming fear that accompanied them, we found comfort, hope, and courage in an exemplary nurse named Aseel, who worked in the Adult Chemotherapy Unit.

The medical team decided that my sister would undergo six cycles of chemotherapy treatment, with each cycle lasting six long hours every three weeks. The idea of enduring this lengthy chemotherapy protocol seemed incredibly exhausting. However, Nurse Aseel, who stood by my sister's side from the moment she entered the chemotherapy unit, greeted her with a genuine smile and supportive words, turning this challenging journey into one filled with hope and courage.

Aseel is an outstanding nurse, one of the most compassionate I have ever encountered. She truly demonstrated empathy and professionalism, providing my sister with extraordinary care that exemplified both compassion and excellence. Aseel safely administered the medications, ensuring everything was done perfectly. She explained each step and the purpose behind every medication with a gentle and reassuring tone. Additionally, she provided necessary patient education on how to manage possible side effects during chemotherapy treatment. It wasn't just her nursing knowledge and skills that were impressive; her strong commitment to offering emotional support truly mattered. This lovely style of communication was crucial in alleviating my sister's fear and anxiety, making her feel safer and more comfortable.

Every chemotherapy session felt like an episode in a series—six episodes, each lasting six hours. Despite the repetitive and exhausting nature of these sessions, Aseel approached each one with the same passion and love as the first. Her gentle touch and encouraging words were a balm to my sister's weary spirit. Aseel's tireless commitment to going above and beyond for her patients is what truly makes her stand out. Her presence was a constant reminder that we were not alone in this battle; we were in the right place with the right person. She took the time to listen to our concerns, answered our questions promptly, offered words of comfort, and provided us with the knowledge we needed to support my sister through her treatment journey.

Aseel's efforts went beyond her professional duty as a nurse. She embodied all the qualities of a truly compassionate nurse. Her actions exemplified the essence of empathy and human connection in healthcare. We will never forget the difference she made, not only in my sister's treatment but also in our lives as a family. My sister's journey through chemotherapy, marked by Aseel's dedication, will forever be etched in our hearts.

I write these words on behalf of myself and my family to express our gratitude and say, "Thank You, Aseel." You deserve the honor of being recognized as a DAISY Nurse.
