What an honor. I first met Nurse Agdew on the evening shift. He was very soft-spoken and knowledgeable. He truly made me feel it ease. He then said he was doing this for a long time. He definitely went beyond expectations. He understood my pain level as well. Again, for him having done this for so long, he can recognize the pain I was going through. Nurse Agdew was direct in his approach to PRN medicine; he would simply round on me during the time the PRN medication was due to determine whether I required it or not, without my intervention. That made life a little easier, being in a hospital, trust me. He was extremely well-informed and knew exactly what he was doing. It was as though he could wear a blindfold and still be accurate. One of the nicest people I met here hands down.
He really cares and he would check on me and have a little conversation here and there. He never left the room without asking, "Do you need anything?" He was so organized, he kept times of everything so you would not have to ask – he is one of those who cares. I acknowledge those who taken care of me through my stay here at the Washington DC veterans administration hospital. He is one of those people that you know that really cares. You can’t fake that.
Again, he went over and beyond. I can honestly say he is one of the greatest nurses I’ve ever had with no exaggeration. I would get excited when I knew he was my nurse for the evening/overnight shift. I knew I was in good hands, and I knew I would not feel like a burden. Some people just do this job just for a nine to five. From my being in law enforcement for years, I never considered my job just a 9-5. Very passionate about it. So, I can tell when someone cares, and Nurse Agdew really cares. Thank you so much for being a kind, caring nurse.
