Ashanti was nominated by a grateful patient's family who shared:

"We met Ashanti on J11 during one of the hardest times our family has faced. Our 15-year-old daughter had just been admitted, and emotionally, she was not in a good place. Then Ashanti walked in on the morning shift—and everything began to change. From the moment she entered the room, Ashanti brought this incredible light with her. Her warmth, humor, and energy were contagious. She connected with our daughter immediately, in a way that felt almost magical. Teen girls aren't always easy to reach, especially when they're struggling, but Ashanti just got her. It was like she knew exactly how to meet her where she was.

Over the next two days, Ashanti continued to show up with the same kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. She wasn't just doing her job; she was going above and beyond every single moment. She made our daughter feel seen and safe, and she made us, her parents, feel supported and understood. Her ability to communicate clearly and compassionately kept everything flowing between all the different care teams, and that made a world of difference.
