IUH SIP and Bloomington as a community lost a great man, Dr. S. Not only is this a huge loss to the community as a whole but a huge loss to our office, our staff.
Nurse Ashlee Mosier has been with Dr. S since he started his primary care career in Dr. F's office nearly 8 years ago and has been his faithful nurse since, even in his passing. Always going above and beyond, much like Dr. S himself, Ashlee provides excellent care to all of our patients. She exemplifies every value that IU Health SIP wants an employee to have: purpose, excellence, team, and compassion. We always used to giggle in the office when Ashlee would take a rare day off that Dr. S wouldn't know just quite how to function without her here for him to depend on.
If you knew Dr. S, you loved him from the moment you met him, you were also most likely drawn to his natural ability to be a leader. A leader you knew you could trust, depend on, and one that you really valued their opinion. I ask that you trust me now when I say that he would love nothing more than to see Ashlee receive a DAISY Award. He trusted Ashlee, depended on her, and believed in her abilities as a nurse to take care of our patients to the highest standards.
I believe it speaks volumes to her character that in light of his passing Ashlee has received letters, cards, flowers, and most importantly to SIP, Dr. S's patients want to establish their care with a provider here in his office to remain where Ashlee will be the nurse.
