Ashley went above and beyond to advocate for a patient who was unable to advocate for herself. Ashley found evidence through her assessment that this patient may have been involved in an unfortunate event. Ashley did not initially receive the support she needed to help this patient. She stood her ground and would not let the subject go. She escalated the situation through the leadership team at WVU Uniontown Hospital. She is ultimately responsible for getting the right people involved so that the patient can receive proper care. Nurses from Ruby even assisted via Telehealth and congratulated Ashley on being such a strong patient advocate.

Once the patient was able to speak, she expressed how grateful she was that Ashley stood up for her when no one else would. Ashley got the city police involved, and the city police interviewed the patient. Thank you, Ashley, for standing up for a vulnerable patient. Thank you for speaking for her when she was unable to speak herself or when no one would listen. Thank you for standing up for all women. Your kindness and compassion during this case set the bar for all other nurses. Thank you for being a role model and making a distinct impact on this patient and your colleagues. We are all inspired by you.

Thank you, Ashley A, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
