Ashley Adams 2025, BSN, RN

Last night, I came into the ED with my daughter R and I was having an allergic reaction (Hives, SOB nauseous and vomiting). They got me back to a room quickly and an IV placed on the first stick and flushed. The doctor ordered IV Benadryl and IV steroids. Ashley went over the risks and benefits of the meds, being that I am 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant (with a boy). Once I got settled after the medication was administered, I got really sleepy. Ashley took my daughter, my baby girl, and gave her paper and a bunch of stickers and watched her for me while I slept off the medication. Ashley gave her a sippy cup full of ice water and played with her. She even got my daughter to fall back to sleep and laid her in bed with me. My curtain was kept open so Ashley could keep a close eye on both of us while we slept. Without Ashley, I wouldn’t have been able to sleep or watch my daughter. Ashley deserves the world and a vacation. I am a single mom without a village to help me with my daughter, so Ashley became my village for my daughter while I was there.
