Ashley made me feel like I had some kind of control over my day and that she supported and advocated for me always.
Ashley is super attentive and gentle while remaining calm and informative. She makes me feel like I am involved in each step of my care and I feel like she naturally just goes above and beyond for her patients. This is my first real stay at a hospital and having Ashley as a nurse has helped to make this experience as enjoyable as it can be. She is a great conversationalist and she never forgets anything I tell her even if it was just one time.

When I was super nervous and anxious about getting my PICC line removed, she explained it in a way that didn’t get rid of my anxiety but I had so much more trust and faith in her after talking, that most of that initial worry was completely gone and I felt comfortable again. When giving me my daily blood thinner shot (which I hate) she would always make sure I was comfortable and allow me as much choice as she could as so much has been out of my control. Ashley made me feel like I had some kind of control over my day and that she supported and advocated for me always. She followed up multiple times on what felt like embarrassing concerns and she made me feel like I was in the loop instead of some outsider who just has to do as she’s told.

My care felt super personal and I wish I could better describe how passionate Ashley is in this field. Some people become nurses and others like Ashley just have a natural-born talent for compassion and healthcare. To me, Ashley isn’t just a nurse, she’s THE nurse. I hope everyone can also see how amazing she is and how hard of a worker she is as well. Ashley Carlson, I appreciate you so so so much, and thank you for making all the gray days brighter!
