Ashley had been helping with a complicated family case on the COVID unit where we needed decisions quickly. We spent all day without getting anywhere with the family. It was a rapid decline, and the family was working through a lot of shock. In the afternoon, Ashley took it upon herself to discuss the situation in a different way with the patient's wife. She FaceTimed with the patient and his wife before his mental status worsened and provided a level of understanding and closure that I feel the wife needed. She facilitated a much-needed plan of care that was kind to the patient and in his best interest. Great job advocating and thank you for asking the right questions!
