Ashley was so compassionate and supportive as she knew I was nervous to have surgery.
Ashley kept me calm, very educated, and informed and she kept patient through all of my anxiety and stress. When I asked a question, she took time to thoroughly answer or to find out for me. I bothered her a lot and she never lost her patience or got upset. She took her time answering any and all questions. She maintained patience with me, which is not easy. Always very professional, and went above and beyond the call of duty.

Ashley was my OB nurse. She was with me for a straight 19 hours as I went into labor in the middle of the night and she was called out. Our delivery didn't go as expected and I had to have a C-Section. Ashley was so compassionate and supportive as she knew I was nervous to have surgery. She never left my side. She explained everything thoroughly and was prompt in getting us anything we needed.
After delivery, my situation wasn’t easy either, but she stayed by me and managed my pain to help make me comfortable. She worked so hard and put us first. I don’t even think she ate. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and to feel comfortable with our unexpected delivery situation. I nominate Ashley for the DAISY Award to recognize her for her hard work, caring, and empathetic work ethic.

This nurse is the perfect example of the kind of nurse that any woman would want to have by her side while in labor. Ashley had a bedside manner that I will cherish forever. Before my labor intensified, she helped me relax by French braiding my hair. She shared that a Labor and Delivery nurse that she had, did the same for her, and it was something that she felt the compassion to pass on. She knew exactly what my goals were for how I desired my labor and delivery experience to go. I had a strong goal to give birth without the assistance of an epidural or any pain medication. She talked me through my stronger contractions and knew when I was beginning to doubt my strength and my abilities.
When I broke down, began crying, and felt my strongest doubts, she told me that I was strong enough and that I could do it. I can still hear her saying, "You can do this, you got this," as she lowered herself onto her knee to be face to face with me as I sat crying and filled with doubt on the side of the bed. God knew where my heart was as I prayed my entire pregnancy to have the ability to have a "natural delivery." He put Ashley on the OB schedule at the perfect time, knowing that I would need her by my side during my labor and delivery. I am forever thankful for the generosity that she gave in her time and energy in the care that she provided to me. She is an amazing human being and is far above worthy of this nomination.

The night that I gave birth to my son, I went into a shower to clean up and after the shower, I became very unresponsive. Ashley helped put me on the floor and did not leave my side until I started to respond. Then she helped me up and to my bed. Ashley continuously checked on me until I was discharged. She provided amazing care and support, and positive and encouraging words.
