She then explained to me that Ashley had spent extra time listening to her concerns and placed her in a comfortable position while spending extra time removing the arterial line.
Ashley was the nurse for my grandmother after cardiac surgery. When I called to check on her after 7 pm, she was kind, compassionate, and professional. She told me that my grandmother was being a perfect patient (which I know was not true as she was a nurse herself for many years and could sometimes apply her nursing experience to every interaction!) When I arrived in the morning, my grandmother was up in the chair and told me, "Oh I had the best nurse last night" She then explained to me that Ashley had spent extra time listening to her concerns and placed her in a comfortable position while spending extra time removing the arterial line, using lots of alcohol pads on the tape for easy removal from her fragile skin. Since being on blood thinners, grandma's skin had broken so easily and was truly delicate. I know for a fact that Ashley has a heart of gold to not rush through the removal while practicing active listening to many stories. These may seem like small tasks, but it is what makes such an impact and means the most to the patient. I am so grateful to such a wonderful care team but especially for Ashley who took such great care of my family. Thank you for all you do!
