This past week, Ashley took care of an 11-day-old patient who came in in cardiac arrest. As these situations are always hard and sad, Ashley handled it calmly and was very comforting to the baby's mom. She herself just had a baby, so I’m sure this was extra hard to see and deal with. After the baby was pronounced dead, she stayed with the mom while she held her baby. She didn’t rush her with her grieving time and was very compassionate. Ashley took her to the morgue and asked them to call her when she was done being autopsied so she could go down and make molds of her hands and feet. No one ever called, so she checked, and we were cleared to do so. She went down to make the molds, was very gentle, and wanted it to be perfect. She made a promise to the mom that she had to keep. Ashley is an overall amazing nurse and really advocates for her patients no matter the situation! I think she is absolutely amazing and a true DAISY Nurse.
