February 2026 Honoree
Ashley Dugre, RN
We were there with my mother-in-law for what was supposed to be a few nights and then discharge. Unfortunately, she took an unexpected, drastic turn overnight on the 9th for the worse and did not recover. Ashley was our nurse on both the 10th and 11th and took exceptional care of not only Mom, but all 6 of us family members who stayed at the hospital. She showed incredible care and empathy, making sure that everyone’s needs were met and everyone was comfortable. Even when we declined any care for the family, not wanting to burden her, she insisted and made sure we were taken care of. Her tenderness with Mom was above and beyond expectation. She came in frequently to check on her and answer questions, but not so much that we felt our time with Mom was being interrupted. She always read the room and adjusted her demeanor accordingly; if we were telling stories and laughing, she’d join in. If we were somber, she’d offer support and encouragement. All of our nurses were good, but she was far above the rest.
Thank you, Ashley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
