While caring for newborn twins, Ashley cared for them as if they were her own. She took care of them several times during their long hospitalization. As the twins were getting better and their systems were maturing, the care team was able to increase their bottle amount each day. Things seemed to be going very well, but Ashley noticed that one of the twins' heartrate and temperature were rising ever so slightly. She called and told the parents her concerns and said that the baby just didn't seem like himself. The parents arrived at the hospital and agreed with Ashley's assessment. Because of her attention to detail and persistence, the physician ran some extra tests and caught an infection before it could get any worse. Ashley advocated and cared for the babies as if they were her own, and went above and beyond to communicate with the family to ensure their babies were cared for.
