I came into this hospital literally on my hands and knees. Ashley was the first person I engaged with once admitted to 8D. Not only did she make me feel respected, but most of all, she preserved my dignity.
In the following hours, I became irritated and incoherent due to my condition, which made me angrier. I ranted my needs, and she advocated them to the doctor. Some of my medication requests went through, but I was denied opioids for pain relief. Not understanding, I became boisterous and demanding. Ashley never lost her composure or tone and was able to reason with me and understood my disposition clearly. She was patient with me, continued to advocate my need for relief from a multitude of painful conditions, including a heart condition. She showed an earnest commitment to my case and took the lead to address my healthcare complications. She is genuinely committed not just to her patients but to her team and floor.
As the plan of care changed concerning the TAVR procedure and circumstances shifted, Ashley stayed the course. She never broke her professional demeanor and presented the highest degree of integrity. Ashley strives for excellence on her team and floor, inspiring others, which is displayed in how she trains the nursing assistants.
