June 2026 Honoree
Ashley Fortin, RN
I came into Carbon ED for a medical concern I was having. Ashley was my nurse, and she was amazing. The reason for my stay was something that will be very heartbreaking for me for the rest of my life, and it was a very emotional roller coaster.
Ashley was so patient with me, understanding, and gave me the reassurance that I needed to know that I will be okay and I will heal from this. Being able to relate to someone’s pain on a deeper level than just as a medical professional, but as a mother, and not as a patient but as a friend (in a sense), was what I needed in that moment for my mental health and wellbeing.
I’m truly grateful for having Ashley as my nurse during my time at the Carbon ED, and I will never forget how she made me feel and helped me be okay through it all. She is an angel, and I hope to be the same way when I become a nurse.
Ashley, you were meant to care for others, and that truly does shine through. Thank you so much!
