My mother's cardiac ablation was pushed back from 8 AM to the last procedure of the day. Ashley Foster went above and beyond to make us feel like she understood our frustration and even offered to have her husband bring my aunt and I food because we missed cafeteria hours. She realized we did not want to leave my mom in case they called her back while we were gone! It quickly went from this being an in-and-out procedure to not getting home until after 9 PM. My mom was very anxious coming in because she'd never had health problems previously, and this being a heart procedure on top of that, her anxiousness increased by the hour. Plus, it did not help being NPO for now over 24 hours at this point. She kept getting bumped back further and further. We were all fed up! You could tell Ashley genuinely cared and even checked on us on her way out the door when her shift was over. I wish we had more Ashley's in this profession, from a former Bon Secours employee. She's a keeper! She's the kind of nurse you hope to get in these situations where you're nervous and scared of the outcome. Great job, Ashley!
