I have been a patient at the Danny Talbott cancer center for approximately 3 years. I started my treatments at the radiation side of the clinic where I received excellent care. After completing the treatments, I was starting to feel better and had a positive outlook for recovery, but cancer being the evil that it is came back months later which led to more consultations with the doctors here and at Chapel Hill. The outcome resulted in me starting new treatments at the oncology infusion side of the clinic. All of this is very confusing and very scary as you really don’t know what to do but follow the doctor’s advice. The very first treatment I had is where I found an angel here on the ground by the name of Ashley, and after that treatment, I knew without a doubt that I wanted her to be my nurse every time. I was really nervous the first time, but she quickly made me forget all about that because I knew she had everything under control with painless infusions to asking me to get me things that I really didn’t know I wanted but soon found out I did. Everyone at the cancer center is great, and I have been blessed to have her as my nurse. I have told her and many others there that God is my witness I can never repay them for what they have done for me.
