My husband is 67 years old. For the past year, he has been dealing with breathing and stomach issues. Finally, he went for a heart catheterization. They told him he would need to stay in the hospital and have a triple bypass. That was a blow to him. Later that week, he underwent his bypass. Complications after his surgery occurred. Breathing, kidney, and diabetes were out of control. The surgeon and many other doctors were able to get his kidneys and diabetes under control. His breathing is still an issue.

He had many nurses, but one stuck out as very compassionate to his issues. When we met Ashley, my husband had been in the CICU for over two weeks. Ashley was able to get him to use his hands and arms so he could feed himself. She was able to connect with him to get him to want to do things he wouldn’t do with the other nurses. Her personality is what got my husband to want to live. We need more nurses like Ashley! Thank you, Ashley!
