She doesn’t just guide patients through treatment; she walks beside them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
There are nurses who do their job well, and then there are nurses like Ashley. She is the kind of nurse who brings comfort simply by walking into a room. Her compassion is evident before she even speaks. Every day, she steps into the Radiation Oncology department at the Cancer Center with intention, empathy, and a depth of caring that seems endless. She doesn’t just guide patients through treatment; she walks beside them through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming and emotionally heavy for patients and families, yet Ashley has a remarkable gift for easing that fear. She listens closely to every question and concern, making each person feel heard and respected. Her attention to detail ensures the information she shares with providers is always complete, giving patients confidence that their care is thoughtful, coordinated, and precise.

Her compassion is matched by strong clinical skill. Ashley collaborates continually with radiation therapists, oncologists, navigators, and clinic teams to make sure every aspect of care is timely and seamless. She advocates tirelessly, securing appointments, clarifying plans, and removing barriers that could delay treatment. Often, she is advocating even when patients don’t realize it. In a specialty where timing and accuracy are so critical, her dedication truly impacts patient outcomes.

Ashley is also the kind of colleague every team hopes to have. She respects differing perspectives, shares her knowledge freely, and serves as a trusted resource for both new and seasoned staff. Her calm, steady presence grounds the team on even the busiest days, and her willingness to step in wherever needed strengthens the department as a whole. She leads with kindness and supports those around her without hesitation.

What makes Ashley exceptional is that she does none of this for recognition; it’s simply who she is. She shows up each day with kindness, integrity, and genuine care for every person who walks through our doors. Patients feel it. Families feel it. And our entire department is better because she is part of it.

Ashley listens. She guides. She supports. She heals. And she does it all with a level of care and commitment that makes her extraordinarily deserving of the DAISY Award. She is a bright, steady source of comfort within the Cancer Center and leaves a lasting impact on every patient she serves.
