Ashley Hall, a Careflight nurse, was rounding in the Medical ICU offering to help. Our

alternate team leader pointed Ashley in the direction of a patient on the unit who was

very critical and actively bleeding. Multiple blood products were being infused. The

nurse caring for the patient was precepting a new nurse who recently transferring to ICU

from a step down area.



Ashley spent about three hours at the bedside providing care to the patient in addition to

helping the primary nurse and our orientee. At one point this patient had three and four

nurses caring for her. Ashley did whatever the primary nurse asked her to do including

infusing multiple blood products, hemodynamic monitoring, keeping track of the huge

amount of blood loss and helping at the bedside with a procedure. She was an amazing

part of the team. She was exactly what the patient, staff and unit needed at that time to

provide the best possible care. She was professional and a team player. The staff was so

appreciative and amazed by her. Thank you Ashley for your kind and generous efforts!
