Ashley's members adore her. I have spoken to many of her past clients who have joined WellBe just to stay with her. I have heard countless stories of how she has found problems before anyone else and changed or saved their lives. Ashley is compassionate and caring. She goes above and beyond for her clients and is not afraid to ask the hard questions needed to solve some of the most difficult medical problems or at least bring some relief.
Ashley's clients felt a huge loss when she left her old at-home care company, similar to WellBe. I have had the chance to schedule a lot that were eligible with us, and the common theme is how wonderful she is and why it took me so long to contact them. It's hard to pinpoint a single story to share because all the members who have seen Ashley say the same things. Ashley has become such an asset to WellBe, and I am glad to be working next to her. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of those members in person.
One member who was a DNC broke down in tears, so thankful that I came to her home and explained she could see Ashley again. She told me how her husband had passed, and Ashley had been there for her in so many ways. She was lost without Ashley on her care team and was beyond grateful that I showed up because she wouldn't have answered the phone, and she did not want to miss the opportunity to see her again. I had a long, wonderful conversation with the member about how Ashley was there not only for her but also for her husband until the very end.
Ashley asked if, a few weeks later, I would witness this member's MOLST form. Of course, I said yes. When I arrived at the member's house, her smile lit up her whole face. "Ashley is here," she said as she greeted me at the door. I spent some time with the two of them going over the hardest conversation I believe there is, end-of-life care and decisions. Even with this upsetting topic, Ashley brought light and love to the conversation that I have never seen. She turned an uncomfortable conversation into something that was talked about so caring that no one felt uncomfortable.
The member and Ashley spoke about her health and the right and wrong choices for her. She took extra care and time answering all the questions the member had, and put her at ease. Ashley kept the conversation light and yet informative. After the paperwork had been signed, it was my time to leave. But not before Ashley and the member started a conversation about next steps and what she had noticed in her paperwork. Ashley not only handled the conversation, but by the way she was speaking, knew exactly what this member needed.
This is one of many members' stories that I could share. Repeatedly, I have been told how Ashley has saved their life and has made such a huge impact in their lives.
