This was the second child that we had at NDH and Ashley has been there for both births. For our first child, Ashley was amazing support both in the OR and after. She then was here again for our second, and when she walked into the room, immediately recognized us. She was great support and resource leading up to pushing and was checking in the entire time.
When it came time to push (a process that lasted almost 3 hours) she coached my wife the entire time and helped her through it to delivery. Never once in that span did she complain or do anything except being an amazing nurse!
After delivery and the next night during her shift, she continued to check-in and connect with us to make sure the baby was healthy, and we were doing well. Ashley is both extremely knowledgeable and good at her job, and also has the soft skills that make a good nurse a great nurse. She makes you feel like you matter and as if she has no other patient than you. She mixes humor and personal experience to let you know she is genuine and to connect with whoever you are. If we do have any more kids it's my hope that Ashley will still be here. She is an amazing asset to this hospital and department.
