Ashley Izaguirre, RN
Our very close friend, K, suffered from a life-changing stroke. After spending nearly 2 weeks in the hospital, he was transferred to LCOM Rehab Dept. This life-changing health event created uncertainty and anxiety. Having Ashley as his nurse helped relieve much of that feeling.
Ashley was patient and kind whenever she entered his room. K was often restless and had frequent requests. Ashley was never bothered by it. She responded and did all that she could to make him comfortable. She made sure to involve him and his family/ friends in his care and recovery plan. She consistently explained things in a way that K and his family could understand. Ashley is a gem. Nurses like her have a tremendous impact on patients' recovery. We are so grateful that she was a member of K’s care team.

Ashley is amazing. She is incredibly dedicated to her patients, explaining everything clearly. When I call her, she responds immediately. I feel she is my personal Nurse and friend. She definitely deserves this award, without a doubt. You can really see the difference from other Nurses who are just doing a job.
