I came into the cardiac unit after having a baby. I was diagnosed with a heart condition and had to stay several nights to recover my heart with my brand new baby. Recovering from having a baby and trying to recover my heart was quite overwhelming. Ashley Jackson made me feel so welcome and as a mother herself sympathized with me and my situation. She listened to me and cried with me on many occasions. She went out of her way to get me anything I needed from the maternity unit. She even went to the maternity unit to get me all the supplies I needed for my brand new baby. I was told that I could not breastfeed with this new medicine I was going to be given and Aje pushed the meds off as long as she could so my baby and I could have one more moment together breastfeeding. She then stayed after her shift to give me that dreadful pill and asked to pray over my family. She made the most horrible moment and saddest time in my stay feel so meaningful and special. Her special care was exactly what I needed to get through my difficult situation. The next day, on her day off, she came and brought me and my oldest daughter a gift! She came to check up on me and see how I was doing after a long sad night! It meant the world to me to know she was still thinking of me and my care even after her shift. She went above and beyond.
