When I first met Ashley, the first thing she said after doing my vitals was "I'm going to get a smile from you, just wait..."(more or less). Sure enough, within one day and a half, she was my new best friend. Ashley is very sweet, and her positive/optimistic attitude is one in a million. She is very educated and as she trains the nursing students, she encourages them. She has the amount of joy needed in a situation such as mine. I had an ostomy surgery and it took me a while to come around. I felt like I was in a hole when I learned I couldn't have anything to eat or drink because of the tubes in my throat. She helped me by being playful, telling stories and telling jokes. Now, as I prepare to be discharged, I'm ecstatic that I'm going home but I'm going to miss her. Luckily, I'll always remember the good laughs we shared.
