At one time, Ashley had a sign up in her office that said, "Be the woman who fixes another woman's crown without telling the world it was crooked." That quote stuck with me, and I truly believe it describes who she is so well as a leader and person. She is approachable, supportive, knowledgeable, and always willing to jump in and help. Her commitment to our staff is seen every week in her huddle messages. Not only does she get the information out there to staff, but she also attaches an entire document with the "whys?" and this is huge for staff satisfaction. When she sees a safety issue on the unit (staff or patient), she is quick to assess and address it.  I never hear her complain, even when it is completely warranted. We are incredibly lucky to have Ashley on our unit. The support she provided me and still provides me in the EC role is something I probably could never even thank her enough for. 

She is a Role Model.  

Ashley wears a lot of "hats." People often stop by her office to talk things out, cry, ask for help, etc. She might have a million things to do, but at that moment, you wouldn't know it. Staff feel supported, heard, and respected by Ashley. She is very engaged with the leads for shared governance and has helped to make some wonderful changes on the unit through it.  

She is an excellent nurse and represents all of the core values of THAA.
