I wanted to send a special thank you to the Nurse who took care of my dad on the day he died. To my family she will be known as the angel with the hot pink shoes. Ashley truly has a special heart. From the moment she stepped on the unit, knowing that we were there to remove the bi-pap and allow my dad to pass, she greeted us with kindness.
As a hospice Nurse myself, we say in hospice that someone either has a hospice heart or they don't. I can tell you that Ashley truly does. No matter how busy she was, she never let that show. She was always there and took extra time to make sure she explained stuff to us or to medicate him when needed. We never felt as if we were "bothering" her. It was Ashley that truly gave him and us the best end of life experience we could ask for.
