My father suffered a massive stroke and was admitted to CCU. He and my mother had been married for almost 68 years. Ashley convinced mom that she needed to go home and rest and assured mom that if there was the slightest change in dad's condition that she would personally call to inform mom. Ashley was solely responsible for making my mother comfortable enough to leave for a few hours. Ashley also took it upon herself to transport me in a wheelchair (I'm awaiting a hip replacement) all the way to the front door of the hospital when we left for the night. Unfortunately, dad did not survive but I will never forget Ashley's kindness and care in his final days.
