My grandma has been living with and battling blood cancer for the past 8-9 years. Recently she was hospitalized due to a fall she suffered at her home. Her body had become very weak to fight off infections and her hospital stay was extensive. My grandmother was in a state where she was very lethargic and unable to speak and the majority of the immediate family present were not native English speaking. Ultimately, my grandmother would not make it home from this visit. This was very difficult for us.

But through this, we had a wonderful staff of nurses by our side. Ashley in particular led the crew. She was patient, kind, took care, and the time to explain what was going on every step of the way. She communicated well with me and helped to ensure stuff was not lost in translation. It really made a difference to know that she was doing all that she could when others would/could have written off my grandmother’s case as simply “her time coming to an end”. Ashley truly exhibited what someone in patient care should embody. Thank you for standing by Grandma's side during the end and helping find the comfort that the family couldn’t fully provide.
