I have been an RN at the VA for 34 years and am just retiring for health reasons. Ashley Matho has shown more compassion and caring for my health status as far as safety and all-out compassion. You see, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through chemotherapy and radiation. I have had seven surgeries and worked through it all with minimal time off. Ashley has been so tremendously caring and supportive and has shown deep humanity. Ashley Matho has been the best Nurse manager I have had, and let me tell you, the VA has some great ones!
Ashley has taken over this unfortunate pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic with full force at the Parma CBOC and has been 100% support to her staff and our Veterans.
Ashley has developed safety protocols at Parma that have been amazing at keeping us all safe. Her door is always open if we have any questions or concerns. I can go on and on about the compassion she has for her staff as well as for our Veterans.
I would cry about my health at times going through this and Ashley would cry with me and tell me how tough I am, and that I am a warrior. I cannot tell you how much faith and power she gave me to move on.
