I just had the most painful neck surgery and I felt so helpless and out of control with pain. I was crying, yelling with anger, shaking with pain, etc. when Ashley came in to say she would be my nurse. I know I didn't treat her well because I was hurting so much. I think I dumped all my frustrations and anger about my pain on her because I was hurting so much.
Ashley was so kind and swift to respond, empathetic and professional. I don't know how she balanced everything I needed, and she also got my medication I requested to help with my anxiety. That is exactly what I needed, and she really helped me get through my intense experience. On top of all that, I learned later that she lost a patient immediately before she came to introduce herself to me as my nurse.
Ashley has skills that I don't think a lot of people have. The empathy she showed toward me really touched me when I thought about it later. She impressed me so much that I wanted to let someone else know so that what she does will not go unrecognized. Please let Ashley know that I appreciate how she cared for me and I'll always remember how she helped me through this difficult time.
