While in the cardiac ICU, Ashley was our nurse multiple times. Ashley did such a good job taking care of us. Our son is a quadriplegic and can't make his own adjustments. When Ashley would come in to give meds and scan his wristband, she always made sure he was covered back up and as comfy as he could be, even suggesting warm blankets from time to time. Ashley would think ahead about things he needed and make sure she did all she could to have those things in place for him. Ashley was informative and explained things that weren't clear. As our family came to understand that our son was approaching end of life, Ashley explained and clarified the many different avenues moving forward. She gave us tools and knowledge that empowered us to make informed decisions. Our son could sense her genuine, caring approach and felt very comfortable in her care. I was comfortable enough that I felt like I could take a break from time to time for a walk around the hospital. This was a real treat for me as the mom. Ashley is a smart, proactive, forward-thinking, attentive, caring nurse devoted to meeting all the elements of nursing. Ashley is an outstanding nurse, and we are so very fortunate that she was assigned to our son's care. We will always remember the difference she made and her impact on us during a very difficult time. I cannot say enough good about her and the difference she makes.
